I had sweet potato pie and one toasted English muffin with PBandJ. It has always intrigued me what they call English muffins in England. And what do they call French toast in France? I suppose they call them just "muffins" and "toast" respectively. BTW, I forgot to take a picture of my breakfast, so this shot of a sweet potato pie will have to do.

Last night we had dinner in a nice local bar. I had a fried fish Po Boy that was enormous. The resulting doggy bag was my breakfast today. Yum!

Sweet potato pie, pinapple, sour cream, parsley, coffee and basil. A beautiful summer morning.
A meme, courtesy of Wikipedia, consists of any unit of cultural information, such as a practice or idea, that gets transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another. Examples include thoughts, ideas, theories, practices, habits, songs, dances and moods. Memes propagate themselves and can move through a "culture" in a manner similar to the behavior of a virus. A meme revealed itself recently when two people were folding an american flag. It started like any two people folding a bed sheet in perfect synchrony (another meme!) when one guy insisted on folding the flag longways in triangles. A third guy came along and emphasized that there is only one proper way to fold an american flag. What a strong meme! I am beginning to see memes everywhere.

Today it was just a whole grain Weetabix with oat milk (like soy milk but made from oats), banana and coffee. I have been reading about memes. They are similar to genes (think DNA) but they exist in our minds as strong ideas and thoughts that propagate among humans via cultural exposure. More on memes later.

The slice of pie is not pumpkin pie even though it looks like it. It is actually sweet potato pie from Shop Rite. I cut up a fresh pineapple myself and put some sour cream on it. I grow the curly parsley in a pot on my patio.
4 July 2008
This is what I had on the Fourth of July. Since I only started this breakfast blog late in the day on 4 July, I had to re-create the elements of my breakfast.
