30 July 2008

Sorry, I skipped a few days of breakfasts. So I will make it up to my fans by posting a close up of my peanut butter. Enjoy.

27 July 2008

Beautiful dappled light came through the window as I ate the pineapple with a dollop of sour cream.

26 July 2008

I went fishing this morning, so it was a very quick breakfast.

25 July 2008

Bannana and oat cereal. Nice.

24 July 2008

Weetabix, soy milk and trail mix.

23 July 2008

Basil and parsley with my pineapple and cereal.

22 July 2008

Whole wheat toast, peanut butter and pineapple while thinking of Carlisle.

21 July 2008

Looks like oatmeal and cranberries today.

20 July 2008, Sunday, 773

I had sweet potato pie and one toasted English muffin with PBandJ. It has always intrigued me what they call English muffins in England. And what do they call French toast in France? I suppose they call them just "muffins" and "toast" respectively. BTW, I forgot to take a picture of my breakfast, so this shot of a sweet potato pie will have to do.

19 July 2008, Saturday 773

Another drive to another place (773). Breakfast has been forgotten, but I am sure I ate something.

18 July 2008

Back home and breakfast is back to normal. OMG, three prunes!

17 July 2008

Last night we had dinner in a nice local bar. I had a fried fish Po Boy that was enormous. The resulting doggy bag was my breakfast today. Yum!

16 July 2008

Half of yesterday's chicken salad lunch. Not as bad as it looks. The hotel room is nice and Pittsburgh is a lot cleaner since they stopped burning coal in the city.

16 July 2008

A supplemental snack obtained in the exhibit hall of the convention. A good source of food.

14 July 2008

Just coffee made in the hotel room this morning. Although it was Starbucks.

13 July 2008

In the hotel room in Pittsburgh. This starts 5 days of pittiful scrounging of bits of food from previous offerings. I had half of a cheese danish...quite good actually.

12 July 2008

Today we leave for Pittsburgh. I have a professional conference all this week. My send-off breakfast includes corn-on-the-cob and PB without J.

11 July 2008

I told you I had greens growing in a pot on my patio. Didn't believe me, huh? Well, take a look out the door. Its mostly parsley and some basil.

10 July 2008

The greens are grown in a pot on my patio. All else comes from the store.

9 July 2008

This is not pancakes, watermelon, syrup, banana and some pinapple. This is a happy face. Happy, happy, joy, joy, joy.

8 July 2008

PB and J on toast. Fruit. Nice.

07 July 2008

Sweet potato pie, pinapple, sour cream, parsley, coffee and basil. A beautiful summer morning.

A meme, courtesy of Wikipedia, consists of any unit of cultural information, such as a practice or idea, that gets transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another. Examples include thoughts, ideas, theories, practices, habits, songs, dances and moods. Memes propagate themselves and can move through a "culture" in a manner similar to the behavior of a virus. A meme revealed itself recently when two people were folding an american flag. It started like any two people folding a bed sheet in perfect synchrony (another meme!) when one guy insisted on folding the flag longways in triangles. A third guy came along and emphasized that there is only one proper way to fold an american flag. What a strong meme! I am beginning to see memes everywhere.

6 July 2008 (Sunday)

Today it was just a whole grain Weetabix with oat milk (like soy milk but made from oats), banana and coffee.  I have been reading about memes. They are similar to genes (think DNA) but they exist in our minds as strong ideas and thoughts that propagate among humans via cultural exposure. More on memes later.

5 July 2008

The slice of pie is not pumpkin pie even though it looks like it. It is actually sweet potato pie from Shop Rite. I cut up a fresh pineapple myself and put some sour cream on it. I grow the curly parsley in a pot on my patio.

4 July 2008

This is what I had on the Fourth of July. Since I only started this breakfast blog late in the day on 4 July, I had to re-create the elements of my breakfast.
